The Home Field Advantage

Built in 2002, the Upper School is home to Covenant Athletics. Athletic facilities include a gymnasium, locker and training rooms, weight room, wrestling room, two regulation athletic fields, and a baseball field. Athletes enjoy the facilities as well as other Covenant students who many times take lunch on the colonnade and on the fields in front of the school. Convocation, pep rallies, and commencement ceremonies are held in the gymnasium, making our athletic facilities multi-purpose to benefit our Covenant community.

We partner with the City of Charlottesville for use of their tennis courts and swimming pool. We also partner with local country clubs for use of their golf facilities.

Driving Directions

The Upper School is located south of Charlottesville at 175 Hickory Street. From I-64, take Exit 120 (Fifth Street).
  • If traveling eastbound on I-64, turn right onto Fifth Street.
  • If traveling westbound on I-64, turn left onto Fifth Street.
Travel south, out Fifth Street Extended, and turn left on Stagecoach Road. Take the first left onto Oak Hill, then the first right on Hickory Street. You will see The Covenant School and athletic fields on the right. To enter The Covenant School’s gymnasium, follow the drive to the back side of the school. The entrance is located at the far end of the building.
